2012 Great North Run Start LargeIt's that time again when a huge team from HS Sports head North to Newcastle for the Great North Run and Great City Games. The hotly anticipated weekend which is the largest UK road race is sure to benefit from fresh interest, straight off the back of our great summer of sport.

Olympic hero Mo Farah today confirmed he won't be taking part in the Great North itself as a result of tiredness since his newborn twins arrived, however he will still be taking part in the Great City Games on the Saturday and is sure to be a real crowd pleaser.

The start of the event is completely unique, with hoards of runners spanning 1mile of a dual carriageway, all of whom are entertained by the giant LED screens and sound systems, as they make their way over the timing mats and onto the 13.1 miles of roads around the North East.
